Some impressions from our photography tour to Phnom Kulen

At Phnom (=”mountain”) Kulen was the cradle of the first Khmer empire. The consecrated water from this area became the basis for the later irrigation system that fed the canals of Angkor. Also the stones for the Angkorean wonders came from quarries in this area. The most impressing motifs on this day tour though are provided by nature: huge waterfalls, lush valleys, bubbling sources – what an experience!

It´s a long way through the jungle..

Some places are accessible only if we change to a motorbike, to access the small paths (not a must)

but it´s worth finding the secluded places offside.

There are also some few old temples at Phnom Kulen, hardly ever visited!
